Bottleworks District Phase I Open In Indy

2021-04-07T11:11:35-05:00

Phase 1 of Bottleworks District, a new mixed-use development in Indianapolis for which Ring & DuChateau provided engineering design and services, is officially open. Ring & DuChateau’s Bottleworks team, led by Associate/Project Manager Jason LaRosh, has been working on the project for nearly four years from design through closeout.

Bottleworks, so named because part of the 12-acre development is a former Coca-Cola bottling plant and offices, is owned by Hendricks Commercial Properties. The first phase of the project includes office, retail, entertainment and parking, as well as The Garage, the first food hall and marketplace of its kind in Indianapolis. The 40,000 sf food hall features 14 full-service kitchens and eight additional retail/bar spaces.

“Our team did an exceptional job of managing a fluctuating schedule and changing tenant needs,” LaRosh said about The Garage. The team – including mechanical, electrical, technology, lighting and plumbing/fire protection engineers and designers – continues work on Bottleworks Phase 2, for which groundbreaking is expected in late 2021 or early 2022.

R&D Lighting Design Helps Brighten the Passage

2021-01-04T11:19:38-06:00

Starting January 4, the passage under Interstate 794 from the Historic Third Ward to downtown Milwaukee will be more beautiful, bright and interactive with the installation of a programmable aesthetic lighting system as part of the Brighten the Passage project.

The lighting system, installed on the freeway support piers on Broadway and Water Street between Clybourn and St. Paul Streets north of the Milwaukee Public Market, features a nightly light show that will alternate by season, events, sports teams and holidays. The show includes interactive color spotlights on the sidewalks.

Ring & DuChateau provided lighting design services, spearheaded by Associate and Lighting Design Team Manager Holly Blomquist, for the project.

The Brighten the Passage project, which aims to strengthen pedestrian connectivity between the Historic Third Ward and the downtown area, also includes four vibrant, themed murals painted in September 2020 on the freeway support piers on Broadway.
