The Children’s Wisconsin Skywalk Building, a project for which Ring & DuChateau provided engineering design and services, has been awarded a 2024 Engineering News Record (ENR) Midwest Regional Award of Merit. The award is given by ENR Midwest for projects that represent outstanding quality of work, spur innovative ideas and overcome intriguing challenges. The Ring & Du team was involved in the project from the initial study to review options to expand and remodel the hospital’s existing emergency department and trauma center that resulted in the new Skywalk Building, a 156,000 sf, two-story facility that is expandable to 10 floors. The facility includes 50 treatment rooms, pharmacy, imaging area, transport services and an ambulance garage.
