WMHI Steam System Replacement
Oshkosh, Wisconsin
Ring & DuChateau was the prime AE for this project that relocated 1,450 linear feet of steam/condensate direct buried conduits as well as sewer and water pipe that were situated in the planned location of a facility expansion at Winnebago Mental Health Institute. Project work was within an undocumented burial ground area, so close interaction with the Wisconsin Historic Society (WHS) was required, as was an on-site archaeologist when digging in certain areas for documentation. Due to the extensive underground utility work, locating existing utilities was critical to the project. Underground locations including hydro-excavation were performed on the WMHI campus. Utility measure downs were also an important part of the survey allowing for three-dimensional design of the project.
